Copper spark plugs usually refer to those with a copper core as the central electrode (copper has excellent thermal conductivity), and the outer layer is plated with nickel or other alloys to enhance corrosion resistance.
Excellent thermal conductivity: The copper core quickly dissipates the heat from the combustion chamber, preventing the electrodes from overheating, making it suitable for engines with low compression ratios.
Economical: Its economy is superior to that of nickel alloy spark plugs.
The ignition efficiency is stable in the initial stage: The electrode is relatively thick, and the spark energy is concentrated, which is suitable for low-speed working conditions.


Key points for maintaining copper spark plugs:
Replacement cycle: It is recommended to check the electrode gap and coating condition every 5,000 kilometers, and mandatory replacement is required every 10,000 kilometers.
Carbon deposit treatment: After soaking in carburizer cleaner, gently rub the side electrode with fine sandpaper (600 mesh or above) to avoid damaging the coating.
Gap adjustment: The standard gap is mostly 0.6-0.7mm. It needs to be precisely calibrated with a feeler gauge (if it is too large, it is prone to fire; if it is too small, it will affect the spark energy).
Copper spark plugs are the lowest-cost option among motorcycle spark plugs and are suitable for the following requirements:
✅ Owners with extremely limited budgets;
✅ Routine maintenance of old/low-performance vehicle models;
✅ Short-term test or emergency standby scenario.
