Technical Parameters

Platinum spark plugs is composed of two parts: an insulator and a metal housing. The metal housing has threads and is screwed onto the engine cylinder. Inside the metal housing, there is a central electrode, Platinum spark plugs insulated from the metal housing through insulating material. At the upper end of the central electrode, there is a connecting nut, which connects the high-voltage line coming from the distributor. Under the metal housing, there is also a grounding electrode welded. There is a very small gap between the central electrode and the grounding electrode. Pulsed high-voltage electricity breaks through the air between the two electrodes, generating an electric spark to ignite the combustible mixture and do work. Due to the fact that spark plugs operate in a harsh environment of high temperature and high pressure, the requirements for their materials and manufacturing processes are extremely high. However, nickel alloy spark plugs are often used in most economy cars, while only mid-to-high-end cars use platinum spark plugs.

China platinum spark plugs

Platinum spark plugs is a conductive component of a gasoline engine ignition system, consisting of an insulator and a metal housing. It contains a central electrode and a grounding electrode inside, with a tiny gap between the two electrodes. Through the breakdown of high voltage electricity, it can generate an electric spark to ignite the combustible mixture.

Platinum spark plugs use platinum as the electrode material. Platinum has a high melting point and stable chemical properties.

Common types include single platinum and double platinum spark plugs. The center electrode of a single platinum spark plug is made of platinum, while both the center electrode and the side electrode of a double platinum spark plug are made of platinum.

Working principle: When the engine is running, the ignition system generates high voltage electricity, which is applied between the two electrodes of the spark plug. Due to the gap between the two electrodes, the high voltage electricity will cause the air to be broken down, forming an electric spark that ignites the mixed gas in the cylinder and causes the engine to do work.

Advantages

1. Long service life: The service life of platinum spark plugs can usually reach more than twice that of ordinary spark plugs, generally ranging from 60,000 to 100,000 kilometers or even longer, reducing the frequency of spark plug replacement and lowering maintenance costs.

2. Good durability: Platinum spark plugs perform outstandingly in harsh environments such as high temperatures, high pressures, and strong corrosion. They can work stably without being easily worn or eroded, ensuring the durability and reliability of their performance.

3. High electrical conductivity and high-temperature resistance: Platinum spark plugs have excellent electrical conductivity and high-temperature resistance, providing stable ignition performance under extreme conditions.

4. High combustion efficiency: Platinum spark plugs have a higher ignition efficiency, which helps improve fuel economy and power performance, while reducing exhaust emissions and minimizing environmental impact.

5. Low noise: Platinum spark plugs provide more precise ignition, which helps to reduce engine noise.

6. Application scenarios and applicable vehicle models: Platinum spark plugs are suitable for vehicles traveling in harsh environments such as high temperatures and high pressures, which can enhance their performance and reliability. For vehicles operating under extreme conditions, the use of platinum spark plugs can significantly enhance their performance and reliability.
